Where to buy maps, souvenirs and postcards

Tourist Information Centre at Radnická 8 offers maps, informational brochures and other services for tourists, such as helping to find finding the right accommodation. The biggest souvenir store is located at Běhounská Street 17, near the Church of Saint Jacob. Postcards are sold in almost every large tobacco store and in bookstores too. Postal stamps can be bought in tobacco stores and of course at post offices, the 10 CZK post card stamp (“známka za deset korun“ in Czech; 0.36€) will cover all countries worldwide.

Where to buy food and find basic services

Shopping mall Vaňkovka is located on the southern side of the train station. With a huge grocery (Interspar) and several dozen smaller stores like boutiques, drugstores or stationearies, it offers the widest opportunity for shopping in the town. Laundry and a hair dresser are also available in the mall. Tesco supermarket on the southern side of train station or Delvita market at náměstí Svobody are good alternatives for shopping. At the corner of Rašínova Street and Moravské náměstí, there is a small grocery store open 24 hours a day.

Where to buy foreign press

Newspapers from the UK, USA, Italy, Germany and Italy can be bought in a tobbacco store in Vaňkovka shopping mall or in a tobbacco store in the middle of Masarykova Street.
